A teacher attempting to discipline a middle school student turned into a full-on assault in the hallway of a Michigan middle school. Now the boy and his family are looking for some payback.

Earlier this week, security footage from June 4 was released of a now-former employee at Ypsilanti Middle School choking a 14-year-old student with a t-shirt.

Watch the incident below:

Per a report from USA Today, the employee was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm by strangulation, and assault & battery.

Along with losing his job, the employee can no longer work in the school’s district and is not allowed on school property for no reason whatsoever, according to WXYZ.

Michel Moon, the victim in the case, and his family are especially frustrated with the incident due to the employee being a “trusted coach,” according to USA Today.

In an interview with WXYZ, his parents said that the incident started because the coach, who was serving as a hall monitor, told him to do some pushups because he was playing in the hallway.
