Sanders, who has garnered high polling numbers with young voters since his 2016 presidential run, returned a kind message to the singer, thanking her for her previous work and calling on others to join similar causes.

“I want to thank @ArianaGrande for not only being a wonderful entertainer, but also for being such an outstanding advocate for social justice,” Sanders tweeted Wednesday. “We must all be prepared — like Ariana has shown — to fight for everyone who is struggling. It was great to meet her in Atlanta last night.”
