A Louisiana school teacher, Cynthia Thompson Perkins, 34, and her ex-husband, Dennis Perkins, 44, a Livingston Parish deputy, were arrested earlier this week on multiple children’s porn and sex-related counts, including 60 counts each of producing child pornography and two counts of first-degree rape.
Cynthia admitted to lacing cupcakes with her ex-husband’s sperm and feeding them to her students. Now facing nearly 40 years in prison–Cynthia has admitted to her crimes of helping her ex-husband sexually assault a juvenile, film the juvenile bathing, and laced cupcakes with sperm from her ex-husband.
The state Attorney General’s Office is leading the case and has released minor details about the couple’s charges but has shared that the two will face Gwen’s Law hearings next week–That law allows a judge to deny a suspect bond for certain crimes.

“Today, Cynthia Perkins admitted to her crimes and pled guilty in court,” Jeff Landry said, Louisiana Attorney General. “She not only waived any right to appeal and attempt to avoid conviction, but she also spared the victims from reliving her horrific crimes during this particular trial.”
For Dennis, His former colleagues were disappointed in the news and moved forward, terminating him from the team.
“It is a sad day for us, for all law enforcement officers, when you arrest one of your own,” Jason Ard said, Livingston Parish Sheriff. “We at the LPSO work hard every day to retain the trust placed in us by our citizens. I understand this was a veteran law enforcement officer, one who had dedicated a lot of time & effort into this community, but as I have said in the past – no one is above the law.”
“This type of alleged behavior will not be tolerated by me or anyone at the LPSO,” he continued. “I do not condone these alleged acts. I am disappointed. I have always considered Denny a friend & a family member. The Attorney General’s Office is leading this investigation. We are assisting & offering to cooperate in any way we can.”
Dennis Perkins was head of the special operations for the LPSO at his arrest. Perkins Bail is at a $1,675,000 bond, and Cynthia Perkins is at the Livingston Parish Jail on a $500,000 bond.
Delia Taylor, Livingston Parish Schools spokeswoman, said Perkins’s class was business as usual with a substitute teacher on Thursday morning at Westside Junior High School. She shared there had been no direct communication to students or parents regarding Perkins’s arrest, nor has counseling been offered to students who may be impacted by the news of the teacher’s arrest.
