The latest guilty verdict handed down by an Orange County, Fla. jury was in connection to a shocking confession of a Black man in 2021. However, his statement to police wasn’t in the midst of an interrogation — it was during his job interview to be a cop.

On June 16, 2021, Stephen Bodley was at the Apopka Police Department interviewing for a position to be a sworn police officer, according to the Office of the Ninth Judicial Circuit State’s Attorney. Things became tense when he was given a voice stress examination. The voice stress analysis examiner asked Bodley to expand on an answer he put on his pre-test questionnaire.

Specifically, the question asked, “Have you ever sexually assaulted anyone?”

In that portion of the exam, he suddenly opened up about sexually assaulting a child when he was younger. It’s safe to say the interview was over after that.

In it, Bodley described sexually assaulting a younger child when he was 12 to 13 years old and said that the incidents occurred 10 years ago in his home, according to an arrest warrant affidavit reviewed by PEOPLE, which also claims he admitted it again when he was questioned about it further.

“I can’t remember but um, but what do you call it, yes, um, I used to um, play these little sexual games, like oral with my little [redacted] and I known she, she didn’t know fully what was going on, and I used to watch porn a lot, so I had like a little addiction when I was younger,” Bodley told a detective at the time, per the affidavit.

“He explained that he was going to his room naked and she was laughing and then she put her mouth on it (referring to his penis),” the affidavit states. “Defendant Bodley stated that it gave him an idea to ‘play this game’ and he would play the game with her ‘all the time.’”

The report says the police found he continued this behavior well into his teenage years. Following the discovery, detectives met with the victim and their mother, who said she’d known Bodley since he was a child and never thought he’d do such a thing, per DailyMail. After their interviews, Bodley was called back to the department, but not for a job offer — to be arrested.

R. Kelly Makes Shocking Claim That Victims’ Parents Lied About Their Children’s Ages, Says Courts Withheld Evidence That Could Have Cleared Him https://philadelphiaobserver.com/r-kelly-makes-shocking-claim-that-victims-parents-lied-about-their-childrens-ages-says-courts-withheld-evidence-that-could-have-cleared-him/ Mon, 08 Apr 2024 18:26:55 +0000 https://philadelphiaobserver.com/?p=5839

R. Kelly has leveled a startling accusation at the U.S. Federal government, claiming the parents of his alleged victims misled him and the courts withheld vital evidence that could clear his name.

In June 2022, R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty on nine counts of a superseding indictment charging him with racketeering predicated on criminal conduct, including sexual exploitation of children, forced labor, and Mann Act violations involving the coercion and transportation of women and girls in interstate commerce to engage in illegal sexual activity, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Eastern District of New York.

After being found guilty of three counts of child pornography and three counts of enticing a minor in Chicago, the singer was sentenced in February 2023 to 20 years in prison, with one year running consecutively to his 30-year sentence in New York.

During a prison phone call with Wack100 that streamed on Clubhouse, the disgraced R&B singer talked about how this evidence was purposefully buried and compared his plight to of a man exonerated by the Equal Justice Initiative with the help of civil rights lawyer Bryan Stevenson in the movie “Just Mercy.”

According to Kelly, his legal team provided chats indicating parental consent for minors residing with him. He suggests these messages could either validate his actions or reveal parental deception about the girls’ ages, supporting his defense that he was unaware he was engaging in statutory rape.

“It’s crazy, man, and it’s exposed; that’s the difference. It’s not like it’s not proof of it,” Kelly began.

Wack100 asked about the evidence being presented in the court.

“It didn’t never come up in the courts that the parents and everybody told you muthaf—kas was a certain age? Like they just totally ignored that s—t,” the ex-gang member-turned-social media instigator questioned.

“Obviously, totally,” the Chicago native said.
