Officials in Tennessee have arrested a woman captured in videos allowing a child to do Brazilian waxes on her nude adult clients.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, the business owner boasted on social media about the child’s actions, leading to an investigation by Memphis police.

“When I say I’m passing down Deeds & LLCs to my creations I mean that. Ms. Khloe did her thang today,” user @jasminedemiracle wrote. “She literally helped me wax 24 client starting from 7:25-5pm. She made a total of $744 and I’m going to put the money towards whatever her future dreams and aspirations are.”

Screenshots of the original post have been circulating throughout different social media platforms. It shows the child spreading the wax on the clients’ intimate areas. Atlanta Black Star will not publish the images because they feature a minor. The post sparked backlash from the public, who questioned the owner’s decision-making.

In a statement released on Sunday, Memphis Police announced that the agency is working with the Department of Children Services to investigate the matter. Officials warn the public not to screenshot, download, or save the photos.

“We can confirm that an investigation has commenced in this case,” a spokesperson told WREG. “Pursuant to state and federal laws, we are unable to provide specifics about cases involving the children and families we serve.”

Man Named As ‘Person of Interest’ In Young Dolph’s Murder Has Been Killed https://philadelphiaobserver.com/man-named-as-person-of-interest-in-young-dolphs-murder-has-been-killed/ Fri, 30 Jun 2023 09:16:37 +0000 https://philadelphiaobserver.com/?p=5020 Joshua Taylor

Joshua Taylor, also known as CEO Teezy, was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon (June 14), members of Taylor’s family confirmed with ABC24.

Just one year earlier, Taylor was named a person of interest in the Young Dolph murder case. Taylor was also wanted on charges that include theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000, and possession of a prohibited weapon. Police are still searching for information on Taylor’s murder and a suspect has yet to be identified.

From the 2022 TMZ report:

Memphis PD announced Sunday two persons of interest in connection to the homicide — 26-year-old Devin Burns and 26-year-old Joshua Taylor … both of whom the cops say they are unable to locate, and need the public’s help in finding. Burns is described as 5’6″ at about 135 lbs. and Taylor’s a tad bit bigger … 6’6″ at 180 lbs. MPD says Burns has unrelated open warrants for his arrest — but both men appear to have posed for mug shots before. It’s unclear how or why exactly these two are suspected to be related to the murder — but cops say they want to sit down with them regardless.

Dolph, known for hit singles such as “Preach,” “Get Paid,” and more, was shot and killed inside of a cookie store in his hometown on Wednesday (November 17). He was 36 years old.

According to FOX 13 Memphis, the rapper visited Makeda’s Butter Cookies when someone pulled up to the store and opened fire. The shooting was the third attempt on the rapper’s life. In 2017, he was shot at over 100 times in Charlotte, North Carolina but escaped any injuries.

Despite the untimely passing of Dolph, his memory lives on. In late 2021, a street in his hometown of Memphis was named after the slain rapper.

The efforts for the street-naming was spearheaded by City Councilman JB Smiley. While it was something Smiley wanted to do immediately after Dolph’s passing, he wanted to get the family’s approval to move forward with the gesture.

“It’s important for the city of Memphis to know that we’re going to celebrate our own,” Smiley told NBC. “We need to tell the story that he was investing in young people in our community. He came back to Memphis to give back. … It’s only right for the city of Memphis to do right by him.”

Mother Claims Memphis Day Care Tried to Cover Up How Her Toddler Went Missing; Instead It Was a Stranger Who Saw the Child Wandering Outside the Building https://philadelphiaobserver.com/mother-claims-memphis-day-care-tried-to-cover-up-how-her-toddler-went-missing-instead-it-was-a-stranger-who-saw-the-child-wandering-outside-the-building/ Sat, 05 Nov 2022 17:17:23 +0000 https://philadelphiaobserver.com/?p=4314

A Tennessee mother of two had the shock of her life when she realized a stranger discovered her 10-month-old child was missing from his day care. Originally, according to the parent, the nursery school told her a teacher discovered the child was missing for a split second and brought him back inside the building.

On the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 25, Amber Giles received a call from the Building Blocks Academy day care in Memphis informing her that one of her two children was involved in an unspecified incident while she was at work, according to Action News 5.

Giles said, “They didn’t specify which child it was, [or] exactly what was going on or the type of emergency that it was.”

No one said anything to her when the children were picked up that night, but on the next day, the facility owner explained the toddler, two months shy of a year, had wandered outside of the door while two staffers were putting out the trash. The child, according to the owner, went undetected for a very short time— but was quickly recovered.

“She said within a split second the teacher noticed that Amir was gone and she picked them back up and put them back in the building and that was that,” the mom said.

However, a different version of the story was later revealed— and this one was supported by the Department of Child Services and a police report.

A man who was pumping his gas at a nearby gas station saw the child outside of the day care.

“I ran over there and notified the lady that was in the room,” he said. “And she was like, ‘Oh my God, I didn’t know this baby was even here.’”

He, in turn, contacted the authorities, who shared with the mother the full story.

Now Giles wants the day care to be held accountable for not sharing the actual information with her.

“I see that this could’ve been really different because it’s a whole lotta stuff going on out here, ” she said, before stating the day care doesn’t have working cameras that could have recorded the incident.

The Tennessee Department of Human Services, one of the agencies notified about the incident, released a statement about the incident, offering their support to an investigation into what happened.

“The Tennessee Department of Human Services will assist law enforcement and other authorities in their investigation of the situation as needed. The [TDHS] Child Care Licensing Team investigates within the parameters of child care licensing rules and regulations, and will take any necessary action as a result.”

Building Blocks Academy as a business has been operational for almost 20 years, according to its website. The school boasts a bilingual (Spanish and English) Christian-based curriculum that teaches children from 6 weeks to 12 years, “age-appropriate” tools for “Self-discipline, self-esteem, and positive behavior.”
