North Carolina mail carrier Marshun Brooks has received clearance from the United States Postal Service (USPS) to return to work after the postal company suspended her without pay for attending to a medical emergency.

On Nov. 20, Brooks suffered chest pains and shortness of breath while delivering mail. According to WBTV, she followed protocol by calling 911 and messaging her supervisors about her location and condition. Still, after hospitalization and doctor-ordered recovery time, Brooks returned to the USPS only to discover she had allegedly been suspended without pay for “abandoning her route.”

Brooks said she immediately called emergency services that morning and sent a notification through the postal service messaging system. “I’m going to put my health before anything,” the postal worker later stated after she spent nearly six hours in the ER before she took an Uber back to the mail station that evening. The woman’s supervisors allegedly ignored her earlier alerts and made no inquiries about her health.

“Did you not all see the text message I sent? Because I just got released from the hospital,” she asked her supervisor upon returning her mail truck keys that night. The supervisor allegedly only asked where the postal vehicle was, without any expression of concern.

Nationwide — Rehan Staton, a 27-year-old man from Maryland, is gaining national recognition as he is set to earn his law degree from Harvard Law School this year after years of working as a garbage worker. He recently co-founded the non-profit The Reciprocity Effect as a way to give back to other support staff.

As previously reported, Staton’s education suffered because his family struggled financially and emotionally when his mother left them. He was not accepted into any college so to help support his family, he decided to get a job at Bates Trucking & Trash Removal in Bladensburg, where his father and older brother were also working. That’s when the idea of going to college reoccurred to him.

“A lot of the folks at the sanitation company actually started referring to me as ‘smart’ and not a lot of folks have done that before,” Staton told Fox News. “They essentially said you should go to school.”

Staton was hesitant to pursue higher education at first but with the help of his boss, he got into Bowie State University. He then transferred to the University of Maryland, College Park, where he majored in history.

While in college, he took out loans and he did not stop working as a janitor to pay for his education. At his job, he heard numerous stories from his co-workers who were formerly incarcerated. It made him think about the law and the justice system as well as the possibility of him going to law school.

Ultimately, he got accepted into Harvard. His exceptional story then made national headlines and even caught the attention of media mogul Tyler Perry, who personally called him and offered to pay for his law school education.

Disturbing video footage showing a suspected white supremacist violently threatening a fast-food worker over an order dispute seemed to check all the boxes for a federal hate crime by way of a threatened lynching in an N-word laced rant. The video filmed at the counter of a Popeyes restaurant was going viral on Sunday and left no doubt about how the white man who starred in the footage really feels about Black people.

There is little context accompanying the video that abruptly opens showing the unidentified white man angrily walking toward the counter that separates Popeyes customers from workers, one of whom was filming the encounter. While holding a phone to his ear, the white man, who is clearly very upset, demands a “refund” for his food.

One worker, an older man, said some unintelligible words before the white man pointed at the camera and claimed the worker filming called him a “cracker.”

When the older worker asked the white man why he was called that, his response immediately offered the missing context.

The white man roared his response: “I called her a f*cking nigger after she called me a cracker!”

When it becomes clear that no one cares about this white man’s grievances, he threw an impressively racist, privileged and entitled tantrum that would make a baby David Duke blush.

“You n*ggers think this is f*cking acceptable, huh?” he growled at the camera, which remained firmly trained on him, recording the spectacle for the rest of the world to ridicule.

For emphasis, in case it was unclear that he was racist, the white man widened his eyes, leaned over the counter and yelled directly into the camera, “You f*cking niggerrrrrrr,” extending that hard R sound in an apparent effort to prove his anti-Black hatred.
