Since then, she has continued to call out her treatment in the situation.

In September 2022, the Celtics head coach was suspended months after taking the team to the NBA Finals. As the weeks followed, more news regarding the reasoning behind the suspension came to light. It was revealed then that Udoka reportedly was cheating on Long with a Celtics staffer.

Rumors of an affair had been circulating months before, but nothing seemed concrete until the suspension was handed down. During the coverage of the head coach’s infidelity, many news sites put Long’s name in the headlines while keeping Lynch’s under wraps.

Not much is known about Lynch, and Long believes there was an effort by the Celtics organization to keep her life private. Lynch reportedly has a connection to former Boston Celtics player Danny Ainge and his daughter, with whom Lynch attended college. Ainge, who has served as chief of basketball operations for the Celtics, reportedly helped Lynch to get her position.

Long has stated before that she feels the media has produced plenty of coverage on her and her children while Udoka’s mistress stayed out of the public eye. In an interview with “The Cut” in February, Long said, “The Celtics made a choice to make my family business public, and I don’t understand why.”

The Brooklyn Nets went down 14-0 to start the game and against the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Head Coach Steve Nash called a time out. The Celtics then went on a 14-2 run and Brooklyn was down 28-2! Brooklyn cut it to no less than 12 the rest of the way, and suffered a blowout loss without any of their big three playing 126-91. James Harden sat out with an injury.

Said Nash of the injury-plagued team after the game, “what are we going to (do to improve),” Nash asked. “We can’t magically repair those injuries and have everyone back and go back to their natural roles and positions. That’s something that we’re just going to have to continue to play through until the time comes.”

With the trade deadline being Thursday and with so much uncertainty with the Brooklyn roster, will the team look to make a big splash before the deadline? With rumors of James Harden being unhappy with the Kyrie Irving situation, and with Irving only being available for road games, the team may make a move.

The New York Beacon will be looking to see if any moves are made by any of the New York teams.

Kemba Comes Home Knicks Look To Go Deeper http://philadelphiaobserver.com/kemba-comes-home-knicks-look-to-go-deeper/ Fri, 22 Oct 2021 20:50:56 +0000 https://philadelphiaobserver.com/?p=2981 Photo: Special to the NY Beacon

By Bobby Childs In the month of October, a few things are expected.  The leaves begin to fall from trees, a slight chill enters the air, and the NBA starts their season.  The New York Knicks will be starting their 75th year playing host against the only other remaining original team from 75 years ago, the Boston Celtics.

Over those years, the Knicks have a record of 2,840 wins & 3,019 losses, while the Celtics have won 3,462 versus 2,406 losses.  Prior to last year, wins have been hard to come by for the Knicks. The Knicks had a winning record in only 2 of the last 10 years. Last year under new head coach Tom Thibodeau, the team finished with a 41-31 record and hosted a 1st round playoff series.  The season also saw a breakout season from Julius Randle who was named an All-Star and Most Improved Player.

The Knicks provided great excitement for its fan base as the city was dealing with COVID19 in shelter and related protocols. The fun season came to an end just as fans were allowed back in The Garden to watch the team, as the Knicks were eliminated in the playoffs by Atlanta Hawks and their dynamic young star in Trae Young.

As the new season starts, the Knicks added 5 new players starting with NBA veteran & Bronx native Kemba Walker. Joining him are vets Evan Fournier and Wayne Selden. Two rookie draft picks Quentin Grimes and Miles “Deuce” McBride round out the 15-player roster.

The other thing October brings is Halloween.  So, Knick fans will be wishing for another season of treats from Randle, Derrick Rose, RJ Barrett and others, versus a return to bad tricks.
