Authorities say a 6-year-old Chicago boy’s mother and two of his siblings were detained in connection with the child’s death after his body was discovered near an abandoned house in Indiana on Saturday.

Three adult family members suspected of being involved in Damari Perry’s killing were arrested on Saturday, according to a news release from the North Chicago Police Department.

According to FOX32 Chicago, Jannie M. Perry, 38, Lake County prosecutors charged with first-degree murder, concealment of a homicidal death, and obstructing justice.

Damari’s brother, Jeremiah R. Perry, 20, was charged with aggravated battery, inflicting physical injury to a kid under the age of 12, concealing a homicidal death, and obstructing justice, prosecutors said. A second sibling, who wasn’t named due to their age, was facing charges in juvenile court.

Damari’s body was found near an abandoned house in Gary, Indiana, early Saturday. It was unclear how the body came to be in that location.

According to the North Chicago Police Department, Damari was last seen with his elder sister on Tuesday about 3p.m. local time in Skokie, Illinois, wearing a black jacket, camouflage pants, and black sneakers.

Damari and his older sister were picked up by a Black female named “Monique” and a Black male named “Wacko” or “Chaos” and supposedly driven to a party in Skokie that afternoon, Jannie Perry alleged.

Authorities told the station that her daughter had a drink and fell asleep at the party, waking up later to discover Damari and “Wacko” both gone. “Monique” allegedly drove her daughter home without Damari, she claimed.
